Why do we stand to sing?
"Then the Levites... stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high.” II Chr. 20:19

"After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” Rev. 7:9-10

Why do we clap our hands?
"Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!” Psalm 47:1

Why do we lift our hands?
"Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.”  Psalm 63:4

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.”  Psalm 134:2

"I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;”  I Tim 2:8

Why do we have audible praise unto God?
“Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!” Psalm 103:1

“After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, ‘Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!’... And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, ‘Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!’” Rev. 19:1,6

“What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” I Cor. 14:15

Why do we sing in Tongues and in English?
"For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding."  I Cor. 14:14-15

Why do we have this type of worship?
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."  John 4:23-24

“For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh.”  Phil. 3:3

Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns?
"And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."  Eph. 5:18-19

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."  Col. 3:16

What is prophecy?
"The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?"  Amos 3:8

"But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men."  I Cor. 14:3
